There is a specific point in the day when the shadow of the Saint-Martin de Mazerat church falls over Ch\u00e2teau Beaus\u00e9jour J. Duffau-Lagarrosse. Built between the end of the 11th century and the start of the 12th, this religious structure, which once hosted Saint-\u00c9milion\u2019s canons, reminds us of the promontory\u2019s rich history and geography – with sacred and cultural roots that run just as deep as its vines.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

On this limestone slope, concealing a labyrinthine network of quarries in which Beaus\u00e9jour\u2019s wines are aged, generations of men and women have left their mark. Most notably among them is the Duffau-Lagarrosse family, who has worked tirelessly for nearly 170 years to produce wines receiving global critical acclaim. Since the creation of the Saint-\u00c9milion classification in 1955, Beaus\u00e9jour has belonged to the inner circle of ch\u00e2teaux awarded Premier Grand Cru Class\u00e9 Premier B status.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A serendipitous encounter<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The property\u2019s destiny changed course in 2021 when the young oenologist met Prisca Courtin, of the same generation, and in charge of diversifying the activities of her own family, owners of the Clarins group. Prisca was immediately drawn to the estate and its rich history. Recognising their shared values and ambitions, she sought to acquire Ch\u00e2teau Beaus\u00e9jour J. Duffau-Lagarrosse on behalf of the group.
